Well, my dears, I had big plans to have my short story for Princess Mia finished and available by now, but that hasn’t happened (and I still don’t have a title). I have made progress though! And in the realm of good news, I was planning on this story being 10,000 words, and it’s already more than 13,000 with more still to come. Apparently, if I’m going to tell a complete story, I can’t do it under 10,000 and be satisfied. Mores the better for my readers, I suppose!
Why haven’t I gotten it done? Meh, lots of reasons. Lack of creative juices, other obligations, continued edits for Paths Unknown, etc…
Speaking of which: this is drop-dead week for Paths Unknown! This book is scheduled to go to my proofreader on Monday, which means all my little tweaks must be locked in by Sunday evening. So I’m gathering the very last bits of feedback from my beta readers and doing what I can to make this story shine just a little brighter. Please preorder!
I’m not going to try to predict when Mia’s story will be done, because it’s May, and all you parents out there know that the last month of school is crazy. I have a daughter coming back home from college, I have another that’s about to graduate, and all of the final recitals and performances are happening in the next few weeks. However, if I have my way, it would at least been done before Paths Unknown releases, so that will be my goal. Wish me luck!
