Fall into Fiction
Hello, my lovelies!
This post looks a little different, doesn't it? See, I got myself a new website look, and I also switched my newsletter sending service. But it's still me! If you want to take a look at how I spiced up my website, please do! Also, let me know if you happen to run across anything glitchy.
In other news…
I was able to attend a new (to me) event on Saturday. It's called Fall into Fiction, and it was fabulous! I got to meet so many readers, sell a lot of books, and I got to dress up! The organizers encouraged vendors to dress up, since we were doing a bit of a Halloween theme, and naturally I was ALL OVER THAT.
Of course, one thing that always happens at these events is that readers ask me what my favorite book is.
OOF.
Not sure I can adequately explain how difficult it is for me to even wrap my head around the idea of trying to pick a favorite. A lot of times I'll just say my most recent release because it's the one I've fallen in love with most recently. Other times I'll say Just Ella because it was my first love. Once in a while I'll say The Starling and the Hatter because I poured something of myself into that one that was unique. But if I start thinking about it beyond that, I'll become frozen because with each book that I think about, I just love them each so much. I'll remember how much I love Lylin and Rhys's first meeting. I'll remember how satisfying it was to give Marilee wonderful supportive women who help her to burn her dead husband's belongings. I'm reminded of Kinley and Rylan's banter, Faelyn and Bram's impossible situation, Ansel and Gretchen's whole childhood being scattered through the series and then getting to see them grown up, Libby and Sean's heartbreaking journey, the way that Jack calls Leila "Angel" because she refuses to give her real name.
All of my characters are so real and so present to me, and I truly hope that they show up that way for my readers.
